The SSIEM Society awards up to 30 Travel Scholarships and invites applications of up to approximately €750 (seven hundred and fifty Euro) for European candidates, and up to approximately €1500 (One thousand five hundred Euro) for candidates outside Europe, to enable SSIEM members and non-members to attend the SSIEM Annual Symposium.

In addition, the Society will cover the registration fee and accommodation in the same hotel for all travel scholarship winners. Accommodation and registration will be confirmed at later stage.

The deadline for application is extended to May 11, 2023.

Application Requirements:

  • Applicants are clinicians and scientists with a special interest in IEM.
  • Applicants should be less than 40 years of age on the day of submission.
  • Applicants must intend to attend the Symposium and must have submitted an Abstract before making an application.
  • Applicants must be the designated abstract presenter and the first author.
  • Applications are made via the Travel Scholarship application form only. Applications received by email will not be accepted.
  • Applicant who received a travel scholarship in SSIEM 2022 is not permitted to apply for SSIEM 2023.  

The Application consists of:

  • A brief CV indicating interest in IEM.
  • Details of applicant’s scientific abstract submission.
  • A letter of support from the head of department or institution.
  • Detailed estimate of travel costs.
